Office Shore

2018

Excerpt from EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME:

It’s a hybrid between beach and office equipment. As in many of my works, the human-made environment co-exists with the so-called natural environment. The tall chairs are absurd, useless in their fragile balance; anyone using them would be putting themselves in grave danger. Contemporary work can be dangerous for people. The mentality of “the show must go on” is equivalent to “the job must get done at all costs” mindset. This way of thinking can make us so obsessed with work that we end up continuing to work, regardless of the costs and consequences for our quality of life, as well as our mental and physical well-being. – Hannah Toticki
